Restoration 101 is a hands-on, real-world training course designed to introduce professionals to the fundamentals of restoration and job-site decision-making.
This course focuses on helping participants understand the “why behind the work,” covering essential concepts such as water damage, moisture detection, equipment use, and mold awareness. Students will learn how to properly assess damage, identify issues early, and understand how restoration is handled in real-world environments.
Designed for those new to the industry or looking to strengthen their foundation, this course builds confidence and provides practical knowledge that can be immediately applied on the job.
This one-day course combines instructor-led training, real-world examples, and hands-on demonstrations focused on practical application.
Participants will learn the basics of water damage, including categories and classes of water, and how to assess affected areas using proper moisture detection methods. The course covers how meters work, how to interpret readings, and how to make informed decisions based on site conditions.
Students will also be introduced to essential restoration equipment, including air movers and dehumidifiers, with a focus on how and when to use them effectively. Mold awareness is a key component of the course, including what mold is, how to identify it, associated health risks, and the appropriate steps to take when it is present.
Throughout the training, emphasis is placed on understanding how restoration is handled in real-world situations, how professionals make decisions on the job, and how to approach projects with confidence and accuracy.
