About this course:
The IICRC Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (AMRT) course provides hands-on, real-world training in mold remediation and microbial contamination control for professionals in the restoration and environmental industries.
This course focuses on identifying contamination, understanding microbial growth, and applying proper remediation techniques in real job-site conditions. Participants will learn how to safely and effectively perform remediation using industry standards, including containment, engineering controls, PPE, and removal procedures.
Designed to improve job-site performance, reduce liability, and ensure safe, compliant remediation practices. Certification exam included.
Agenda
This 4-day course combines instructor-led training, real-world demonstrations, and hands-on exercises focused on practical application in the field.
Participants will learn the fundamentals of microbial contamination, including the conditions that contribute to growth and how to properly inspect and assess affected environments. The course covers containment setup, engineering controls, and the correct use of personal protective equipment to ensure safe and compliant remediation practices.
Through scenario-based training and guided exercises, students work through real-world remediation situations, gaining experience in decision-making, material removal, and cleaning procedures. Emphasis is placed on performing work safely, efficiently, and in accordance with industry standards.
The course concludes with a comprehensive review and certification exam, preparing participants to confidently perform microbial remediation in residential, commercial, and healthcare environments.
