IICRC Health & Safety Technician (HST) Certification
The IICRC Health and Safety Technician (HST) course is designed to provide real-world training in occupational health and safety for professionals in the cleaning, restoration, and remediation industries. This course focuses on developing the knowledge and practical skills necessary to identify hazards, assess risk, and implement effective control measures across a wide range of jobsite conditions.
Participants will gain a strong understanding of health and safety principles, including the Globally Harmonized System (GHS), hazard communication, and the hierarchy of controls. The course emphasizes the importance of proactive risk assessment and the application of engineering controls, administrative controls, safe work practices, and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to reduce exposure and prevent incidents.
Upon completion, participants will have the awareness and competency needed to help prevent workplace injuries and illnesses, protect workers, and support safer jobsite operations across the restoration industry.
This 2-day course combines instructor-led training, live demonstrations, and hands-on exercises focused on real-world application.
Participants will learn hazard identification, risk assessment, GHS safety standards, and proper use of PPE. Through interactive scenarios and group activities, students develop the skills needed to evaluate jobsite conditions and implement effective safety controls.
The course concludes with a review and certification exam, preparing participants to confidently apply health and safety principles in the field.
